The present church structure was constructed in 1900, however the congregation is 174 years old.  The first church structure was built in 1862 at a cost of $1800, replacing an 1843 log frame meeting house, constructed on land donated by David Snyder to build a Wesleyan Methodist church.  The structure and architectural detail is unique to the area and has had very few alterations.  There is a well maintained cemetery (graves date back to 1836) with a vault built in 1881.  This is behind the church built into the creek bank.  A stone staircase curves down to the vault.
