Opened in 2005, this interactive, multi-media facility is devoted to the history of the Erie Canal, particularly the building of the “Flight of Five” locks at Lockport. An orientation film transports the visitor back in time on board a recreation of a packet boat. Virtual reality brings life to individuals from the Raphael Beck mural, “The Opening of the Erie Canal”.
